If something went wrong, the most helpful report tells us three things: what device you were on (iPhone, iPad, or Mac), what you had just done, and what you expected to happen instead. A screenshot is worth all three.

Where are the rules?

The app teaches everything it knows. Open Settings → Show Tutorial (or Help → Lapilli Help on a Mac) for a step-by-step walk through five-in-a-row, captures, and each rule variant.

How do online games work?

Online play is “by mail” over Apple’s Game Center: choose Online under Opponent in Settings, then New Online Match to invite a friend or be matched with a stranger. Colours are assigned by coin flip — whoever draws Yellow moves first. Placing a stone doesn’t commit it; your move goes to your opponent when you tap Send Move, and you can play the computer while you wait. You can keep several games going at once.

How long does my opponent have to move?

Seven days per move, unless the player who starts the game chooses a different limit (one to fourteen days) with the Move Time Limit slider in Settings.

I’m not getting turn notifications

Turn alerts are delivered by Game Center. Check that you’re signed in to Game Center and that notifications are allowed for Games (iPhone/iPad: Settings → Notifications → Games; Mac: System Settings → Notifications).
